The Parish Council Planning Committee meets each month at Exeter Hall. The purpose of these meetings is to consider planning applications submitted within the Parish. While the parish Council does not have a big say in local development, the District Council does recognise that we have an important role in the planning process through expressing local views. The Parish Council is entitled to be notified of every planning application in the parish. Most applications are delegated to Planning Officers. If the Parish Council opposes a development, we have to have good reasons relevant to planning principles and procedures and the Local Structure Plan. Such reasons have to be sent to the District Council within 21 days. If you want to make a planning application and also get advice then you can either go to: The National Planning Portal: http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/ or to the Cherwell District Council Planning section of their web site at: and follow the links to Planning. You can also view planning applications on this site. In addition, all applications, including plans and drawings, are available for members of the public to view in the Parish Council offices prior to the meeting. On the evening of the meeting itself, these documents are displayed in the Committee room. Minutes, agendas, report etc for the Planning Committee are available through the document search in the Information sidebar on the right of the screen. There is time at each meeting for members of the public to address the Committee about any planning concerns or ideas. They are then welcome to remain for the meeting, but may not make any comments or ask questions. If you have any comments or concerns about proposed development in the village please contact the Planning Committee through the Parish Council office. |
